One of the saddest things about those voters who support big government because it benefits them is that it will destroy their souls. Encouraging someone with power to steal from someone who produces and then give it to you is simply immoral. It encourages people to play politics, not to actually work hard and create surplus. Moreover, it undermines the efforts of those who do produce…discouraging them, creating righteous disbelief/anger and eventually less production. So, big government undermines virtue on both sides and only the strongest can withstand it. Civilization can unravel. The US is playing with fire. And the voters pushing this along have zero idea that what they are asking for is in no way helpful to them. It is actually the opposite of fweedom.
